Tooling Project Engineer

General Description:

Responsible for the tooling and manufacturing process design.  Will manage the tooling fabrication, tooling try out, process implementation, first production approval process and timeline for successfully launching.  Will also be responsible for ensuring that budgets are met, and company profitability hurdles are achieved.

Reports To: 

Tool Room Manager

Work Experience:

• 5+ year’s experience in metal stamping industry in a similar position.
• Good working knowledge of Auto Cad, Solid Works, Inventor or other design software.
• Communication skills and be ability to work with customers to determine tooling requirements and communicate tooling progress effectively.
• Journeyman tool and die maker or worked in the field for 10+ years.
• Create timelines using Microsoft project
• Assist tool maintenance department in reverse engineering die components and placing orders with tool shops
• Track customer Engineering changes

Requirements:

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Passionate, Hard worker and well organized professional with ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Experience with Progressive, deep draw and transfer die processes
• Working knowledge of secondary operations such as grinding, welding plating, machining, etc.
• Ability to read and understand prints and drawings.
• Strong experience on GD & T
• Bilingual, Spanish-English
• Engineering degree, preferred.
• Current and Valid Passport is required.
